My Morning Jacket
The Tennessee Fire
Darla issued this numerous times and there’s no way that I know of to distinguish the pressings. The original came with a 7″, but if you yank that out, it’s identical to every other pressing they did. They’re all 180g double LPs in gatefold sleeves with plain paper inners.
For a couple years, MMJ were one of my most-listened-to bands. I was over the moon for their first 3 records and still think they’re pretty great. Jim James’ voice is so wonderfully haunting — such a rare combination of soul and country.
Both LPs are pretty clean — a few marks but nothing significant. Cover is intact but has a corner ding. I’ve replaced the plain paper inner sleeves with anti-static ones.
Not familiar with the band? From this album, check out The Bear, Evelyn Is Not Real, or the haunting I Will Be There When You Die. If you don’t like those tracks, they’re not for you–though I think At Dawn could convert most anyone.
Also, I have not seen them in years, but they are one of the most dynamic and loud bands I’ve ever seen. Such a joy to watch.
