The Heliocentric Worlds Of Sun Ra, Vol. I
Original red-label mono pressing of Sun Ra’s “breakout” record. Heavy, textured cardboard cover with glued on art. Came with a printed inner sleeve featuring a story headlined “The Moody Men Who Play the New Music — They Don’t Call it Jazz”! Was only repressed in mono one other time but labels were white so easy to differentiate.
Record plays pretty great, with a minimum of intermittent crackle indicative of most ESP releases. However, there is a mark a the head of side B — about 7 o’clock in the photo — that lets out some clicks as it passes on the first track of that side. No skips or other nonsense. Otherwise no issues with the record. Cover is intact with a bit of wear. Rare inner sleeve is present and intact and in fantastic shape — only copy of this inner sleeve I’ve ever seen.
